ACNE SCAR KIT
How to get rid of acne scars?
Pitted scars can linger for months – even years – after a bout of acne. They can also become more obvious with age. This is because collagen and elastin declines as we get older and with that, the skin less firm and elastic. Acne scars (and pores) then ‘relax’ and slacken, appearing bigger.
Scarring is caused by a process called fibrosis. This is great when healing larger wounds, as it makes everything stick together. However often beneath the skin, the ‘glue’ is so strong that it can pull the skin down and create pock marks or scars. Microneedling can help break down fibrosis underneath the skin, allowing the skin to ‘let go’ and release the surface hence reducing the appearance of the scar.
Microneedling is one of the best treatments due to its ability to encourage collagen and elastin production and kick-start cellular renewal and rejuvenation. It can also break up acne scar tissue and encourage the growth of new fresh tissue improving skin appearance, texture and overall quality.
